TEDC Publishes 2008 Labor Market Survey

Dr. Marilyn Young, Professor of Management, College of Business and Technology, University of Texas at Tyler, will present the results of the 2008 Labor Market Survey.

The Tyler MSA labor market information was obtained from 600 telephone interviews with respondents residing within a 30-mile radius of Tyler and covering nine counties. The survey was conducted throughout the months of June and July 2008 as a joint project of the Tyler and Lindale Economic Development Council.

600 residents were surveyed to address characteristics of the labor force for businesses considering expanding or opening new facilities within Tyler and Smith County area. Numerous aspects of the labor force, such as current status, availability, minimum wage requirements, and demographic characteristics, were examined.
