Tyler Airport to Receive $11.5M Federal Grant

WASHINGTON– The Tyler Pounds Regional Airport was awarded a $11.5 million federal grant to reconstruct its taxiway and runway, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn announced today. The funding comes through the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP).

“In our mobile society, we need infrastructure that can keep up with our increasing demands,” said Sen. Cornyn.  “Thanks to this grant, the Tyler airport will be more efficient and ultimately safer for travelling Texans.  I’m proud to have supported this funding in the Senate and grateful to the Trump Administration for supporting Texans travelling to and from Tyler.”

Senator John Cornyn, a Republican from Texas, is a member of the Senate Finance, Intelligence, and Judiciary Committees.
